Function: Allows the user to record referring/ordering doctor’s individual insurance carrier and other ID #s.
Highlight the doctor whose records need to be updated
- Click "Edit Selected"
- Enter IDs accordingly
- Click "SAVE"
NOTE: To enter a new referring doctor into the system and/or edit that doctors demographic records; can only be done from the “Update Patient” page via an individual patient’s account > Profile > Demographic update. See Below.
Enter a new Referring/Ordering Doctor
- From Update Patient click on the Referring MD box
- Doctor Search box appears, click "New Doctor"
- Complete all pertinent fields and click "SAVE"
To edit a Referring Doctor’s information
- From Update Patient click on the Referring MD box, “Doctor Search” box appears
- Click "Search"
- Highlight the doctor to update and click the "UPDATE" button
- Complete all pertinent fields and click "Save"
NOTE: When this field is filled in a patient’s record, this referring doctor is automatically appended to all
claims unless another REFERRAL is attached to a specific charge or claim then whatever Referring doctor was
appended to that referral would be considered the referring doctor for that claim or charge. To submit claims
without a referring doctor keep this field empty and don’t attach a referral to the charge/claim.
