Function: Allows the user to record referring/ordering doctor’s individual insurance carrier and other ID #s.

Highlight the doctor whose records need to be updated

  1. Click "Edit Selected"
  2. Enter IDs accordingly
  3. Click "SAVE"
NOTE: To enter a new referring doctor into the system and/or edit that doctors demographic records; can only be done from the “Update Patient” page via an individual patient’s account > Profile > Demographic update. See Below.

Enter a new Referring/Ordering Doctor

  1. From Update Patient click on the Referring MD box
  2. Doctor Search box appears, click "New Doctor"
  3. Complete all pertinent fields and click "SAVE"

To edit a Referring Doctor’s information
  1. From Update Patient click on the Referring MD box, “Doctor Search” box appears
  2. Click "Search"
  3. Highlight the doctor to update and click the "UPDATE" button
  4. Complete all pertinent fields and click "Save"
NOTE: When this field is filled in a patient’s record, this referring doctor is automatically appended to all claims unless another REFERRAL is attached to a specific charge or claim then whatever Referring doctor was appended to that referral would be considered the referring doctor for that claim or charge. To submit claims without a referring doctor keep this field empty and don’t attach a referral to the charge/claim.
