Uploading Photos

You may add a scanned copy of the patient's insurance card, both front and back, as well as add a photo. Bare in mind that the front and back of the card needs to be cropped and the photo need to be cropped. To upload scanned images to the patient profile follow these steps:

  1. You must already have scanned the image. The image must be cropped as well.

  2. Click on browse next to the item you would like to upload. A dialogue box will pop up for you to locate your image. Once located, click open.

  3. Click Upload to upload the image. You may overwrite your current photo by uploading a different photo by going through steps 1 and step 2 again.

Adding Insurances

  1. On the bottom right side of the screen, you’ll find the insurance box. Click on the 'add' button.

  2. The field below the Insurance box will become the ‘Patient’s Policy’ box. Click on ‘Search’.

  3. The ‘Insurance Search’ box will then pop up. Click on ‘New Insurance’. The next screen you see will be the ‘Insurance Maintenance’ window.

  4. Select ‘Claim Office’ from the drop-down next to ‘Edit:’.

  5. Click on ‘Add’, then on the ‘Insurance Claim Office Maintenance’, fill in the appropriate fields then click ‘Save’.

Note: When you’re trying to search for insurances to add to a patient’s profile, the “Search” feature only looks up “Claim Offices”, NOT “Carriers”.

FAQ:

When I scan insurance cards at 200dpi and then upload it as a jpeg it’s illegible.  How can I fix this?

You should scan in at 72 dpi (which is standard web resolution) and crop the image to the standard card size of 300 pixels by 180 pixels so it won't have to resize in the browser.

Who teaches us how to scan the pictures of the insurance cards into the computers?

Resellers, such as Altient, should teach you how to scan everything in.

Is there a way to easily/directly download patient demographics from SynaMed and into his outlook contact page?

We plan on having outlook synching in a few months.  Until then, I would recommend running a report, saving to excel, and converting from there.

Is it possible to add referring doc to physician’s profile?

You cannot add it to the doctor’s profile but you can add it to the patient’s demographic info.

How do you delete patients from SynaMed?

There is no delete function.
